Hi ! My name is Richard and you have arrived at my travel journal.
You can read all of spiel and find out more about me here. I've been travelling the world now for a few months armed with a bag of clothes, a laptop and my incredibly unreliable digital camera. Enjoy the blog and contact me if you'd like to join the scores of people abusing me.

So late night on the 26th (boxing day flight) I arrive at Amsterdam’s airport and I’m buzzing. I’ve been Amsterdam many times before and always found it to be very welcoming and never short of something to offer its visitors.
First up on the priority is to grab a coffee and a smoke. Either bulldog cafe will do the trick. So I jump in a cab and get dropped off their, backpack in hand. Now the popular guides will tell you there are much better places than the bulldog cafe to swig a bit of coffee and get the goodies you require. The Bulldog Cafe is much like a commercialised version of the Amsterdam coffee scene but I really like the space you get there and the good quality products. My advice would be to mix it up and try different places but don’t go out of your way to avoid the bulldog cafe ‘chain’
I’m planning to visit the brewery and a few other places if I can this time before I leave but that is all up in the air. As I’m writing this I’ve found a nice little cafe with free wifi to publish from. A few years back when I came there was no such thing, a Internet cafe was needed. God bless technology.
